RINGER Premiere at New England Conservatory’s Jordan Hall

I am thrilled to be performing the bass part in the world premiere of my newest work, RINGER, for amplified flute and contrabass with ring modulation, in NEC’s Jordan Hall on October 8th at 7:30pm. My colleague in the Composition Department, John Mallia, has curated a wonderful program of chamber music for acoustic and electro-acoustic forces as part of our 2026-27 NEC Composers’ Series. I have the great fortune of collaborating with the amazing flutist Shion Suzuki on my piece, and also with composer Tianyi Wang who is running the electronics, which take the form of digital signal processing on the bass and analog processing on the flute. It’s been great fun shaking the rust off my bass chops in preparation for this, and I look forward to sharing a recording soon.
